AOA 03:54
Intro: New words, new story...still the story of us, though. Aye! Raz...Mich, start it off for 'em... (Chorus) It quite simple We fear no competition We are the authors of Ambition It’s our mission Not afraid to be different We are the authors of Ambition Tell 'em that the motto ain't changed, you get it how's it written/ Still we down to make change, and get it how it's given/ Oh, you want the main stage? I'll give it when I'm finished/ Don't you ever be afraid to be different/ AOA! (Verse 1: Raz) Sketches on the edges of the script/ Believe the scenes connecting through the wrist/ With every flick etching all my paths on the pad/ Either or, come aboard and see me dash on the ave/ It's my specialty, creating so any can see it/ You would've thought that you just crossed into Terabithia/ Every week, bringing life into the visions that I speak/ This the legend built from Leslie if she made it out that creek/ Picture everything, moving with my mind wide open/ Slick enough to slither up and have the blinds slide open/ So the moment is my motion, I'm controlling what you see/ Ain't gotta kick the door when you the one that made the key/ Made my posse out of prophets down to maintain/ The testaments that kept us focus on the same thang/ All one piece, like we rolled with the same name/ So peep the D in the initials when we lane change/ okay! (Bridge x2) Pen to the pad, pad full of lanes/ Lanes lead the lines, lines build the name/ Name takes the plot to the crowd with a bang/ And once you hear the bang, you gon' wonder how it's made/ AOA (2nd verse: Mich) Here we go with another one, rhymes unapologetic/ Detroit representatives, our flow our presentation/ It goes without conversation our rhymes are not basic/ If we wrote it than you should know that it’s sacred/ Please hold you temperance don’t explode upon our entrance/ Cause we can hold a crowd and with you they lose interest/ Not sorry bro, we’re different. No borrowed flows, we’re gifted/ We’re something like Nas; “half man/half amazing!” Refuse to be identical to the rappers before us/ but we’ll push forward the culture and make the world adore us/ It’s hard to ignore us, so you just have to witness/ us showing the world how to create timeless music/ We do it for the love and the challenge it produces/ Just in case you wondering the reason why we do it/ The damage has been done and we're sending you the tulips/ From dust you shall return, in other words? deuces....
2.
(Chorus x2) When the pen hits the pad, then you know it's true/ We don't have to speak, we just execute/ Raised in the days of ciphers in Alley ways/ State your name, spit ya game, we gon' rep for you/ (1st Verse: Dizze) Jotting down my thoughts, hoping for some clarity/ charity's out the question; seems like there's no Goodwill to be had/ So let me be your salvation from the depths of despair/ so fair a maiden, but you better beware/ Cause I'm coming with the heat, sneak up on you like a ghost pepper/ I know my worth and you should too/ it should only get better from here on out/ we rebel against the mainstream/ not an outcast but I'm coming fresh and clean/ it's a new day! Things will never be the same gotta maintain that momentum/ Like the vibrations on the strings of a guitar/ strum away the pain, channel that emotion/ The motion of the ocean is all that matters right? So we're going on night! strap in tight, fight or flight/ is the response and I choose to hold my ground/ hope to make my ancestors proud/ blooming out the ground like a flower in the concrete jungle/ can't bungle this cause we're made for it! (2nd verse: Raz) Can I, unleash my graphs to the masses/ The everlasting plan to journey thru the ashes/ Of kingdoms, who fell victim to every tale/ Of this greatness, the metaphoric Messiah is painting/ the.. Scenario that centers the snare in place/ Kicks building with the bass, this the rhythm of the rebels/ Descended from the dominion they left to pack metal/ I can show you how a village crumbles when the crack settles/ Dawg...my Rhyme schemes are high key, come and follow 'em/ Brash for the brats who only wish to demolish us/ And thought I couldn't turn a couple words into a novelette/ Knowing that I rep the same place as Nolan and Noveliss/ Acknowledge it, temporary pawns turning into spawns/ Fashioned into literates delivering this psalm/ From the memories we hold of days still innocent/ Listen to these scriptures from the corner store syndicate/ (3rd verse: Mich) I let the pen cry, like drunk women over spilled wine/ Bringing words to life, I’m just a product of the Divine/ My mind goes to a mist, twisting and turning cadences/ Shocking to all who listen. Producing more reasons for you/ to stop hating, cause it’s bad for ya health/ I also speak for myself though I was born into greatness/ You’ll be constantly waiting if you seek my downfall/ Evolved from primal, you’d think I rap for a good cause/ But... it’s no charity, I rap with clarity so when comparing me? You’d be hard pressed to find another brother/ Treating the basement like the bat cave, don’t call me Wayne/ At times I speak about my life and yet I entertain/ I'm in a business where people are so dismissive/ attention spans are minuscule. But full of their opinions/ So... when they ask what’s the difference between me and you? I’ll tell em it’s my life and for you? it’s just a dream....

Prove 03:54
(1st Verse: Mich) Persistently defenseless.... I’m at wits end trying to find a peaceful way to end this/ But you have been relentless. I really to feel that I must raise fist/ My courage does lack and my heart is not in it/ My thoughts scream beware and I am aware that I’m not prepared, to stand up and seek my vengeance/ An enemy is placed in my face and hope of escape is little to none/ I always end up the kid made fun of. But this time I won’t be the one who runs/ I lift my fist for defense; overcome nervousness/ Unsure if I’d win but I’ll fight til the end/ So I’ll make sure you’ll never try to hurt me again/ There are moments when no one around will help you.... You must hold your own, you must prove yourself.... You are far from helpless, So face your fears.... There's no shame in being afraid. There's no shame in being afraid! (Chorus) What do I have to lose...if I don't face my fears/ The road's been long and the winds been cold/ I've reached the crossroads... There's only so much I can prove to you....to you... When I still have to prove to myself...that I'm strong enough/ Strong enough! (2nd Verse: Raz) Here we go now... This goes out to the halls of the lost souls/ Fought hard to uphold every lost goal/ Couldn't tell you what it was, but we marched on/ Left blood, sweat, and tears on the console/ Only way to engage with my thoughts so/ Give me space to retrace any place that I used to be safe, Into lanes I can floss on/ My road, so close to the end... Though I'm still stressing over flashbacks to the cracks that I used to pretend/ Didn't harm the message, cause my only method/ Was to duck and act like it was cool/ Leaving my anger to fester and pool/ Never noticed by not making a move that all the poison would just kill off my mood/ Victim of my mutations/ Let my focus die and turned complacent/ Suffered over what I said was nothing, holding up an image meant to prove the faces/ That I showed were the same ones keeping me afloat throughout my tribulations/ Good enough to keep my heart settled, yet the cost was walking with my mind aching/ Nah, this ain't the man to be my mind's anchor/ Trying to stand ten toes, yet I'm still fighting just to get my mind's favor/ Bending corners with my eyes tapered, couldn't see the truth until awhile later/ All the days I spent reminiscing on my own condition/ How the hell I never figure that the worst wounds left to heal were all self-inflicted/ Give me space..

On The Road 03:54
(Chorus) Lately, I've been rocking on the road/ Jamming cross the nation, coast to coast/ So if you see me flex and take a pose/ Just know I did it rocking out a show/ come see me rollin'! I'm keeping focused/ yeah... The money's good, the bitches bad, so yeah I'm on it/ The door was closed, we did our thing, oh shit! It's open!/ The main event done came and went, we still in motion! Come see me rollin'... (1st Verse: Raz) As I travel cross the nation/ Breaking mics and rocking stages/ Couldn't stop me, had to chase it/ Met a million different faces/ Been a thousand different places/ Lost myself inside the bass/ And woke up faded in the basement/ Found my lens and lost my patience/ Swear the sight was so amazing/ Marble floors and diamond laces/ Whitest carpet, chocolate faces/ Lingerie to grace her frame, just need a moment to embrace it/ With awards atop the shelf and models dancing, I can't take it/ Now let me face it... Might be too early to label us as the greatest/ But I bet this coup done made the throne a little anxious/ Guess we ain't take it too well when they said be patient/ So introduce me to the next rule will be breaking/ No need for racing...when we done passed up every track and left 'em blazing/ Boxed with the best and made our name before the placements/ Now where's the mic, I gotta get back to my nation/ I know you see me rollin'.... (2nd Verse: Mich) Laced up, city to city you’ll see me fitted in rock and roll/ The attitude is raw and the most part high energy/ The culture is infused as the genre is pushed forward/ Alcohol is the devil but bartender pour us another one/ Tons of fun! Cause girls just want to have it, let us be the suppliers/ You can’t deny the lifestyle but still it’s a commitment/ In the beginning didn’t have the Benjamins to spend, just in it for the love/ That’s the difference from what you see versus what it really was/ Back of the van sleeping on a band mate while the other drives us to the next destination/ No sense in complaining cause once we hit the stage we’d straight amaze/ Smiles spread like wildfire while we shake the place, let the heads bang/ I’ve been rocking out before the days when I was called The Mich Kidd/ You couldn’t pay $10 bucks before but now out your hand reaches/ (Out your hand reaches!) There’s a cause and affect and now your payment is due/ Some people are only for a season, in other words? Nice knowing you!

about

It started with a simple question: "Aye bro, would you like to do a project together?"

What came to be is a 5 track EP filled with evocative production and novel-like rhymes to compliment the foundation set before them. Authors of Ambition is the debut project of Detroit producer/rapper Raz Hardy and Detroit Rock guitarist and wordsmith The Mich Kidd. Combining their lyrical capabilities on top of Raz's ever-evolving style of beats (with a little help from fellow Detroit producer True Animal), the duo rhymes their way through hard hitting boom bap drums, face-shaking 808's, soaring guitar solos, and playful piano melodies and bass lines.

AOA is a cohesive listen with each track reacting off the energy of the one before it, molding the contrasting compositions into a fluid experience. Join in on the experience when it releases on December 18th.
